Vegan chef Watt Sriboonruang has opened an all-vegan, raw dessert shop in New York.
Rawsome Treats is now open at 158 Orchard Street in Manhattan, selling a variety of plant-based pies, cakes, and other treats.
Sriboonruang previously contended in Muay Thai, and said that her raw plant-based diet helped her train for her fights.
“Not only did Watt double her energy through this regimen, she was also able to remain satiated and healthy while the pounds melted off effortlessly – enough for her to compete in a lower weight division,” according to Rawsome Treats’ website. “Since then, she has adhered to a raw plant-based diet and lifestyle, and encourages others around her to achieve healthiness and fulfillment through the same path.”
Rawsome Treats’ menu includes the “Berry Bomb” chocolate truffles made with coconut flakes and mixed nuts ($18), a “MatchaMisu” tiramisu-style dessert with matcha green tea flavors ($55), and a “Black Sesame” treat with roasted black sesame seeds and a shortbread crust ($50).
